Birth of National Industrial Corporation Ltd (NICOL) at Lahore on December 18th

Establishment of Ajudhia Distillery (Unit of Nicol) at Raja ka Sahaspur , Uttar Pradesh.
The Distillery was initially formed with the objective of supplying power alcohol for vehicles in World War II. Thereafter, it supplied Industrial Alcohol to various chemical and alcohol based units in India. -
1944
Ajudhia Distillery becomes one of the first houses to supply Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) to Defence Canteens and the civilian market in India.

1945
NICOL becomes the promoter for National Bank at Lahore which amalgamated with State Bank of India after partition of the country.

1945-1962
Ajudhia Distillery and NICOL are acquired by Mr. Shiv Prasad Seth s/o Seth Ram Ji Das.
The Distillery undergoes massive modernisation and expansion based on International Technologies. -
1962-1988
Establishment of additional industries – Agra Leather Works, Cold Storage, Suhagan™ (edible oil) and Himaqua™ (mineral water), alongside a continued association with the sugar and alcohol industry.

1988-1991
NICOL goes global in 1988, introducing its premium brands to customers in the international market.

1991-2003
The company collaborates with Ian Macleod of Edinburgh, Scotland to be one of the first houses to bottle the finest Scotch in India, resulting in the launch of Royal Scot™ in 1999.

2003-2004
The Company collaborates with Distillerie Des Delatour, France to introduce its first Premium Brandy in India, resulting in the launch of Black & Gold Brandy™

2004-2005
The Company enters into another collaboration with Ian Macleod of Edinburgh, Scotland to introduce two premium Whiskies, resulting in the launch of Black & Gold Rare Premium Whisky™ and Xcel Reserve Rare Premium Whisky™ in 2004.

2016
Currently known as NICOL HOUSE, the Seth family's legacy is being led into the future by third and fourth generation members and backed by a professional management determined to herald a bright future.
The Company today is focusing on premium positioning of its brands to better serve the needs of customers.
NICOL HOUSE looks forward to celebrating its Diamond Jubilee in 2017.
